![]() ![]() While choosing boot drive on iMac it says "This volume does not have any authorised users for this computer." and asks to authorize one of them, which I can do, but for some reason, it doesn't seem to save it and keeps asking me to repeat the password indefinitely.Īnyway, if I skip this step, I get a message "The version of macOS on the selected disk needs to be reinstalled". It is recognized as a drive, which is good. I ran Macbook Pro in Target Disk mode while connected to iMac via Thunderbolt 3 cable. I assumed Target Disk mode is what I could use, so I boot iMac using MacBook drive and macOS this way I assume I would be able to use the iMac screen and peripherals, and keep MacBook shut in the corner of the desk. So, I'm looking for a way to save space and utilize the bigger screen on the iMac. ![]() I don't usually need to run them at the same time though. I have limited space on my desk, where I need to keep both computers while switching between them throughout the day.
